Hello World!
Well, like most of them, even I learnt to write my first program which prints ``Hello World!", in C. Little did I know that this would be the language that I'd speak for the rest of my life, and that it would be my daily bread and butter!
C appeals me from all angles - a robust language, a strong culture, the heart of technology, and so many other things. Right from your small mobile phone, to the huge aeroplane, you find C working silently behind the scenes - to make your life comfortable! :)
My school did not teach me how to program, it just introduced me to the language. Retort Software, my first job, got me hooked onto this language - forever. This was the place where came to know about the Usenet, and subsequently comp.lang.c.
I've seen many groups, technical, non-technical, religious, political, and what not, but not a single group I've seen shows a dedication to the topic, like c.l.c does. Though I am not a regular poster (either way), I am a regular reader of the group. I have learnt a lot of things from this group, notably,
- the C language (well, this is topical ;))
- the immense wisdom and knowledge people have about a subject, and their kindness to share it with fellow human beings (I learnt to be a knowledge seeker in search of wisdom and enlightenment),
- the tremendous patience they display (I became patient myself all my dealings),
- their down-to-earth attitude (well it appealed to me the most, and helped me let go my ego),
- their strong beliefs about certain topics (eg. topicality),
- their communication skills (I have improved my own too), and so on.
Not only did c.l.c teach me lot many things, it also changed my perspective about the world, and totally transformed me as a human being!
Visit c.l.c, for the above reasons (I am sure you shall experience them soon too), and,
- to meet great people,
- clarify your doubts, and learn the language the world speaks,
- utilize your time well, and feel good about it! :)
Be there, be enlightened!
I don't think reading all this might make you curious to know more about me, as I am a normal human being with human like capabilities. But still if it does, visit my home or my blog, so that I don't remain an ``Anonymous Poster". ;)
